Kate Buss is an author and illustrator who grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois.  After graduating from Lake Forest High School, she received a bachelor’s degree in studio art from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.  She later earned an MBA from the University of Montana and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army reserves.

Kate has a lifelong passion for art and storytelling and pursues her passions through her books.  Kate currently lives in Iowa with her husband and 3 daughters.  ​
